Chances are that your wedding is one of the biggest and most important days of your life. You want everything to be perfect, and to have a great day. If you get married in Summer on the other hand, you could have your reception outside in somebody’s yard, on a boat, or at a golf course on a big veranda. Just because chances are that it is warm out, you have a lot more options to work with and could get more creative. Another thing for you and your spouse to consider is if you want a themed reception. If that is the case, there’s lots of fun reception ideas you can do ranging from beach theme, black and white, Las Vegas, country or even olden days. Themes can be fun and tie in decorations, food and even let your guests dress up and be part of the fun. Second, music plays a huge part in any wedding reception. In lots of articles that I’ve read, people are saying that music can make or break the reception. It can be the life blood of the party and get all the guests energized, or it can be a negative experience where people are shutting their ears and wanting the leave as soon as possible. They have something for everybody’s taste including party bands, country bands, jazz bands and even event entertainers. This is a great option to utilize at your wedding reception. Keep in mind your overall budget however. Bands tend to run on the pricier end, but they are great entertainment and can help to make a wedding reception really memorable! Lastly, consider spicing up the traditional items at receptions. If you have a guestbook, try something new. Perhaps have questions the guests can answer about the couple or places in the book to draw and be more creative rather than simply signing their name on a line. For some fun pictures and memories consider having a photo booth. I know the weddings I’ve been to that had a photo booth were really fun. You may even consider setting out disposable cameras at every table for guests to take fun candids.
