Relocating to San Francisco

Relocating to San FranciscoIf you are moving to San Francisco and using the All Around Moving services, there are several different elements you need to know about San Fran before every stepping foot into the city. While you might have seen a good amount visiting the city, there are certain aspects you just probably don’t know about. That is exactly why you need to take these into consideration, otherwise you might be kept a bit off guard when you arrive.

It Does it Cold

When you move to California from out of state, you might be under the assumption that it never gets cold here. However, that couldn’t be far form the truth. With San Fran located roughly half way up along the coast, the city does become chilly during the fall and winter months. Additionally, you are likely to feel a bit cold once the sun goes down. Because of this, it is always a good idea to have an extra layer with you whenever you head off to work.

Rent is Pricey

Rent in San Francisco is one of the most expensive locations in the entire country. Probably the only other real areas in the rest of the country that can even compare with San Francisco is Manhattan and possibly Honolulu. Outside of these regions, you just are not going to find anything close to how pricey it is here. In fact, you are most likely going to end up spending double what you did wherever you lived previously. In fact, a studio apartment is going to run you around $2,000, and even with roommates, you are going to end up dropping well over $1,000 to $1,500 a month. There are other variables in play when it comes to rent also. Apartment hunting is cut throat. If you find a location that you like, you need to jump on it. If you don’t, chances are someone else is going to. This is one of the most difficult locations to find an apartment and keep it. So, if you fall in love with a location, you need to sign the paperwork then and there. If you are not sure, chances of it being still available when you call back is going to be slim to none.

Cost is High

Outside of apartments being super high in cost in San Francisco, the overall cost of living is incredibly high as well. From the taxes you pay to live in the city to the cost of just about everything else, you are going to find that you simply are not going to have as much money here as you would have previously, unless you are receiving a high paying job in the city.
